Itadakimasu! Sanko's Cheese Almond Rice Cracker

this snack found its way to me through my officemate. i'm not sure where she got it, but its definitely not because she went to japan. i searched for it in my neighborhood grocery's international food section, and i didn't find it. maybe i need to go to Aji-Ichiban. it's a food-find haven, or should i say, snack-find haven?

the snack patrol breakdown:

  • packaging is very nice and appealing - i love how big the japanese characters are and how clean-looking it is. i'm a minimalist. i love lots of white space.
  • it's individually wrapped so the rice crackers don't get tough, chewy, or makunat
  • it tastes weird the first time you bite into it. the cheese (white part) is salty, the almond is bland, the rice cracker biscuit is a bit salty and sweet, with that distinct "rice cracker taste" to it.
  • the taste eventually grows on you
  • the texture is, you know, "cracker-y". the cheese feels like you're biting into a morsel of white chocolate. and the almond is crunchy.
